Your business and residence in Montenegro
DOO is a limited liability company; Preduzetnik is a sole proprietorship; AD is a joint-stock company for larger projects. A foreign company branch forms part of its parent. DOO capital starts at EUR 1, with no prescribed sole proprietor capital; form and capital are selected for your project.
Founders may be domestic or foreign individuals and legal entities. Business residence is considered for a sole owner or an owner of more than 51% appointed executive director. CRPS registration, PIB, an account, funds, accommodation and insurance are required; eligibility is checked for your share and status.
Capital exceeding €1 is deposited before registration: the bank receives the articles or incorporation decision and opens a temporary account. Funds are transferred to the company’s account after registration.
Support includes residential address registration, in-person filing and biometrics at the local MUP. The applicable C/D entry document is checked for the personal stage. An employment contract and social insurance registration are coordinated with the permit; planning takes account of the applicable 24-hour contract execution period.
We prepare reunification documents for a spouse, children and eligible partners, including same-sex partners. Annual renewal is prepared on the original basis. Permanent residence may be considered after 5 years of continuous lawful stay, subject to the applicable conditions, with review of a complete application taking up to 6 months.
Entrepreneurs and executive directors who are sole owners or hold more than 51% are exempt from education evidence when ownership and registration documents are submitted. Recognition is arranged for other employees where applicable.
Renewal planning considers the €5,000 annual tax and contribution requirement for relevant director-owners, applying from 1 January 2027. Applicability is checked individually: we consider exemptions for the EU, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, permanent residents, other residence bases and other company employees.
Tax planning considers corporate tax at 9% for profit up to €100,000; €9,000 plus 12% of the amount exceeding €100,000 for profit up to €1,500,000; and €177,000 plus 15% of the amount exceeding €1,500,000. VAT rates are 21%, 7% and 0% depending on the transaction. Registration is mandatory above €30,000 annual turnover and may be voluntary below it. Dividend withholding is considered at 15%. Applicable rates and individual calculations are established through tax support.
The budget separates support, CRPS/MUP state payments, notary, court translation, legalization and capital. The procedure takes account of the Law on Business Organizations, Law on Foreigners (Articles 70 and 80), and tax and employment rules; international structuring considers double taxation treaties with more than 40 countries, with applicability assessed for your structure.

Questions about the service
Montenegrin company registration does not require the founder's personal presence — a DOO (LLC) can be registered remotely under a general power of attorney, legalized in the client's country of residence. Your personal presence will only be required later, for filing the residence permit application and biometric enrollment with the MUP.
The most commonly chosen form is a DOO (with a minimum share capital of just €1) — a simple and versatile option. Preduzetnik (sole proprietor) and AD (joint-stock company) are also available. The business activity is selected from the official classification code (šifra pretežne djelatnosti), with the lawyer recommending suitable codes based on your goals and the scale of your business.
The company seal is produced, tax registration and a PIB are obtained, a corporate bank account is opened and the share capital is deposited, the applicant is appointed executive director, the residence permit application documents are prepared, the residential address is registered, and the application is filed with the MUP along with biometric enrollment. Ongoing accounting support and compliance with the minimum tax threshold for residence permit renewal follow afterward.
Yes. Family reunification documents for a spouse and children can be prepared in parallel with the main applicant's application.
